Fadini-Borghi, timeless Italian luxury
Like an ode to this sublime material, Fadini-Borghi has perpetuated a tradition of luxury unique to Italy, which introduced silk weaving to Europe starting in the 13th century. Often modern and sometimes classical, the collections play with the conventional codes to define interiors with the sophistication and refinement of plain silks and spectacular jacquards.
Origins
In 1947, Osvaldo Fadini founded an upholstery fabric company specialized in luxury fabrics under his name in Turin. His nephew succeeded him and, in 1975, acquired Borghi, famous for its Genoa velvets. Fadini-Borghi became a reference in the Italian textile industry and joined the French group Boussac in 1995 in order to expand internationally, then the House of Pierre Frey in 2004.

Creation of Fadini
Osvaldo Fadini founded his own upholstery fabric House in Turin, specialized in lovely, high-end traditional fabrics. The collections mainly included sublime damasks, lampas and brocatelles in silk.
1957
A reference in Italy
The company grew and became an essential presence throughout the Italian peninsula. It opened a first showroom in Milan to assert its position and to show off its creations with style and prestige.
1970
A NEW LIFE
After Osvaldo Fadini's death, his nephew Paolo Fadini took over. He was just 25 years old, and his enthusiasm and youth paved the way for growth. He understood that he needed to expand the textile product range and to invest.
1975
ACQUISITION OF BORGHI
Founded at the start of the 20th century, Borghi is famous for its incomparable Genoa velvets. Attracted by the complementarity between these traditional fabrics and those in the Fadini collections, Paolo Fadini acquired Borghi in 1970 and created the House of Fadini-Borghi in keeping with the DNA of these Italian names.
1980 - 1985
CONSTITUTION OF A HERITAGE COLLECTION
Aware of the importance of their roots and of history in promoting and validating contemporary collections, Paolo Fadini acquired many remarkable textile and weaving archives, the oldest dating back to the 16th century. They continue to be an endless source of inspiration for the design studio to this day.
1995
INTERNATIONAL AMBITION
Too isolated in its domestic market, Paolo Fadini joined the French group Boussac in 1995 in view of deploying an international strategy. Under the name Boussac-Fadini, their Italian creations began to be exported and made a name for themselves abroad.
2004
ACQUISITION BY PIERRE FREY
Pierre Frey acquired Boussac-Fadini and gave Fadini-Borghi the opportunity to be born again under their name and with respect for their original artistic direction.
2017
RENEWAL
For the brand's 70th anniversary, the Maison Frey turned artistic direction of the Fadini-Borghi collections and reinterpretd their own codes, their DNA and their specificities through creations that are more current and contemporary, but without compromising the selection of fine materials and the quality of their productions.
