"THERMIDOR AN II" is a low-warp tapestry created by monk and artist Dom Robert (1907-1997), and woven in 1975 by the Goubely workshop in Aubusson, France.
From his walks in the Tarn countryside, Dom Robert brought back a whole harvest of sensations, shapes and colors: here, thistle bushes and flowering grasses, flown over by their endemic butterflies, reveal a midsummer afternoon, a dazzling "thermidor"! The artist's iconic handwriting is faithfully translated into hand-tuft, thanks to the delicate balance of a wool loop background enhanced by exceptionally precise wool pile.
