Louise Bourgoin - Tissus

Pierre Frey

Louise Bourgoin, the actor takes on the role of fabric designer. Passionate about drawing since the age of 12, Louise Bourgoin followed her dream by attending and graduating from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes in 2004. However fate intervened with her promising future as an art teacher when she was selected by Le Grand Journal of Canal + (the French TV network) to be their weather girl from 2006 to 2008. With her focus now on building her acting career, her love of drawing was put on hold but never extinguished. She was known to create sketches of fellow actors and scenes from her life in film, giving them away as gifts to those around her.

It was through a neighbour that Louise was first introduced to Patrick Frey of the Maison Pierre Frey, and she in turn showed him her artwork. He was immediately taken by the fluid, unapologetic lines of her pen and ink drawings and offered to feature them in a collection for the Maison Pierre Frey.

The collection, launched late September 2014, is entirely in black and white and is comprised of three prints on linen, one print on cotton voile, one wallpaper, three carpets and three ceramic plates which are limited to a series of 8 per reference.
