A reinterpretation of the magnificent tapestry by artist Dom Robert, created in 1978 and woven in Aubusson by the Atelier Goubely, this heavy-handed jacquard celebrates the luxuriant vitality of nature. The composition is inspired by sketches of the flora and fauna of the Montagne Noire. The landscape surrounding his monastery inspires the artist on a daily basis. The golden ochre of the background evokes the vision of a meadow at the end of summer, with its grasses scorched by the sun. The wide-open corollas of umbels in various stages of bloom and the butterflies fluttering above are enhanced by a rich color palette and subtle weave.
