How would you summarize this new furniture line in 3 words?
The Adrienne dining chair is sculptural, elegant and unexpected.
How did you find your inspiration?
We often find our inspiration travelling. This time we found it in the city of Paris.
Why did you choose to name this line Adrienne?
The name of the dining chair is an hommage to Adrienne Monnier, avant-gardist bookseller, and her famous Parisian bookshop Shakespeare & Company, a meeting place for the greatest writers and artists.
What is the characteristic detail of the line?
The characteristic detail of the dining chair is the continuous line from the base to the backrest.
What is your favourite material to work with?
We like to work with every material that is able to tell a story. In this case, it was great to work with this combination of wood and Pierre Frey’s textiles.
Do you have any anecdote to share about the manufacturing process?
Something curious about the development of the project is that we talked about the dining chair originally with an uplhostered armrest but then when we saw the prototype naked, we liked it a lot, that is why we decided to keep it that way with the naked and wooden armrest and in addition to the upholstered one.
Working with Pierre Frey workshop on this project was a really interesting experience and we really liked to combine these two materials together for the Adrienne dining chair.
