Public House, where parisian brasserie meets English Pub.

In the heart of the Opéra district, Public House masterfully blends the refined codes of the Parisian brasserie with the timeless allure of the English pub. Conceived by the renowned design agency Pravda Arkitect – Laura Gonzalez, this unique venue spans an impressive 1,000 square meters, radiating a festive and welcoming ambiance throughout.

On the ground floor, the restaurant's banquettes are adorned with fabrics from the SEQUANA collection, primarily composed of woven wool sourced from Donegal, Ireland. This collection seamlessly integrates into the space, not only for its technical attributes, ideal for high-traffic venues due to wool’s exceptional durability, but also for its bold patterns, including striking stripes and tartans. Signature designs such as the GRETA check with its elegant herringbone motif make a distinguished statement. Meanwhile, the bar stools are upholstered in TERENCE, a pure virgin wool fabric featuring a refined Prince of Wales check with a tartan-inspired spirit.

Adding another layer of bespoke sophistication, the Pierre Frey studio designed a custom-made carpet based on a concept by Pravda Arkitect – Laura Gonzalez. Its rich color palette harmonizes with the ceramic floor tiles, infusing warmth and structure into the space. As a central element, the carpet elegantly delineates the bar from the dining area, extending into plush carpeting that invites guests to explore further.

This bespoke carpeting, named PETIT LUC, was reimagined in exclusive colorways, serving as a unifying thread leading to the first floor. Here, a sun-drenched patio bursts with vibrant hues. The space features WAIKIKI, a high-performance outdoor fabric with a linen ikat pattern in a bold grenadine shade, beautifully hugging the curves of the banquettes on this suspended terrace.

.

For a more intimate experience, the basement unveils a speakeasy-style bar with its own private entrance. Embracing a distinctly Irish atmosphere, the space showcases TYRONE, a subtly textured tweed-effect fabric, perfectly paired with the graphic DINO carpet in an elegant cappuccino shade, creating a sophisticated yet cozy ambiance.

An Exclusive Adaptation of PETIT LUC by Studio Pierre Frey

Chosen by the Pravda Arkitect – Laura Gonzalez team for its interplay of tartan and stripe motifs, the PETIT LUC carpet was entirely re-envisioned by Studio Pierre Frey in an Axminster weave. This technical choice ensures exceptional durability, perfectly suited to the bustling nature of Public House. The color palette was thoughtfully adjusted to deeper, richer tones, offering both aesthetic depth and easier maintenance compared to lighter alternatives.

A COLLABORATIVE JOURNEY IN DESIGN

The creative process began with the selection of colors using a pom-pom box, allowing the Pravda Arkitect – Laura Gonzalez team to craft their own harmonious palettes. This foundational step paved the way for the development phase, where Pierre Frey’s team presented mock-ups based on prior consultations. Once these mock-ups received approval, sample production commenced. The final stage involved validating the conformity of materials and colors from the samples, after which the full production of the PETIT LUC carpet was launched.
