The sofa-benches and footstools in the room are covered in PORTOFINO, a textured plain by Maison Pierre Frey in a dense cherry hue. Conceived as a fusion of fashion editor Diana Vreeland's ‘Garden in Hell’ and Stanley Kubrick's ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ revisited by film-maker Federico Fellini, this installation offers a theatrical vision with a bronze statue of Phaeton, son of Helios the Sun God, as its central character. To contrast with the monochrome ambience of the space, light boxes in the ceiling and reinforced metal frames inside the room delineate the spaces while adding a futuristic touch.
