Maison Taittinger private mansion

Reims, France

GREGORY GUILLEMAIN

Built in the pure Napoleon III style, La Belle Enchantée has passed through many hands. Taken over by the Taittingers in 1955, the residence was recently renovated by Gregory Guillemain in the spirit of a private mansion open to artists and the public, becoming the centre of gravity of a project that merges the family's passions for the arts and heritage.

As soon as you enter, you see a bronze by the sculptor Émile Peynot, representing a winegrower and a winegrower's wife at harvest time, a miniature of the one he produced for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. It reflects the deep and long-standing links between the world of champagne and artists. In the hotel's reception room, the production of sofas and armchairs has been entrusted to the Pierre Frey workshops, renowned for their custom made expertise. In this way, the LITHO line adorns the room with its sculptural forms, a dialogue between past and present, between the memory of the place and contemporary creation in this residence that has been nourished by the personality and sensibility of its successive occupants.
