Vincent Buffile was born in 1955 to ceramist parents. After a short period of study at the Beaux-Arts d'Aix en Provence followed by a time of travel, he turned to the profession of ceramist in 1978 and taught for 10 years at the Ecole de Céramique de Provence in Aubagne where he introduced his students to the techniques of turning and casting. In 1984, he and his wife took over the family workshop to perpetuate the family tradition. Together they collaborate on numerous decorative wall panels for architects and decorators in France and abroad. For the past few years now, the Buffile couple has been joined by their son Romain who, as the third generation, has inherited their love of earth and gesture. He creates singular pieces marked by a great modernity, gradually blurring the boundary between craftsmanship and art.
